The struggle for the control of affairs of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Imo State, which has taken a long time between the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma and the duo of former Governor Rochas Okorocha and Ifeanyi Araraume seem to have been resolved.
This is as the latest signal from Abuja has indicated that the governor has won as his preferred man, Prince Marcon Nlemigbo has been inaugurated as Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party in the state.
It could be recalled that when the battle became more furious, the National Caretaker Committee decided to remove all the Excos, beginning from the Ward level to Local Government Area as well as at the State levels.
This action of the National Caretaker Committee even intensified the hostilities on who controls Imo APC.
This problem of who takes charge of the party in the State has actually been on since Uzodinma came into APC where he later emerged the governorship candidate and eventual winner and this intensive struggle has always been among the top notch party leaders in the state for the control of the party.
By critical analysis and from observation, it clearly showed that while Uzodinma, his camp hope and a group known as the Coalition are in one side of the battle, the former governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha in alliance with Senator Ifeanyi Araraume are on the other side.
There was really uneasy in Imo due to the vacuum created by the sack of the excos, but from all indications at the moment, Uzodinma is leading the pack and the return of Prince Marcellinus Nlemigbo as Chairman, Caretaker Committee of All Progressive Congress in the State, signifies that the governor, Hope Uzodimma is now in control of the party in the Eastern Hartland.
The National Caretaker Committee decision has now put to an end the claims of the Dan Nwafor led group which had given the former governor, Sen. Rochas Okorocha and his group the chance to claim to be in control.
