UN tells Nigeria to punish those responsible for Niger abduction

The Tuesday night attack and kidnap of some students of Government Science College in Kagara, Niger State, has been condemned by the United Nations (UN).

The UN demanded that the culprits must be published.

Recall that bandits in military uniform stormed the school kidnapped the children, relatives and staff. One student reportedly died in the attack.

UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres. in a statement,  expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved and his sympathies to the affected families.

Guterres reiterated that attacks on schools and other educational facilities are abhorrent and unacceptable.

The UN chief charged the Nigerian authorities to spare no efforts in rescuing the captives and holding to account those responsible for the act.

The President, Muhammadu Buhari has already ordered the security agencies to ensure the immediate and safe return of all the abducted students from the school.
