Trump’s shameful acts after US election, finally resulting in attack on congress

Unites States election in the past was well known as one in which a loser usually comes out publicly to accept the outcome, even further calling his supporters to cooperate with the winner.
But since after the election of November 2020, the US president Donald Trump has vehemently refused to accept the result which gave Joe Biden of the Democratic Party victory, claiming that the exercise was rigged in favour of his opponent.
However, despite the several claims of electoral fraud made by the President, he has not been able to provide any tangible evidence to back his allegations.
In fact, on many occasions he has used the social media to continuously issue these unsubstantiated accusations.
Unfortunately, to the surprise of many people around the world, several members of Trump’s Republican Party have been supporting him in his efforts to turn the election to his own favour.
There has been repeated recounting of votes in some parts of the US following the President’s complains. Several US courts have also dismissed the fraud allegations.
Despite these actions to prove that the election was genuine, President Trump still refused to accept the outcome, still preferring to issue rejection statements from time to time.
To make things worse, Trump on Wednesday just before the process of certifying the result by the US Congress began, addressed his supporters telling them that he would never concede that he lost the election.
According to him, “We will stop the steal.
“I will never give up.
“We will never concede”.
The above comments from Trump motivated his supporters to storm the Congress in a riotous way, which resulted in heavy injuries on several people and the death of at least one woman who was short during the fracas.
This act of trying to thwart the peaceful transfer of power which has been a hallmark of modern American history by staging a violent insurrection inside the U.S. Capitol angered many Republican members of the congress who decided to speak out against such undemocratic behaviors.
Some of the Lawmakers like Steve Daines of Montana, Mike Braun of Indiana and Kelly Loeffler of Georgia all said they would stand down.
In his reaction on Wednesday, Loeffler while drawing applause from some of her colleagues, said, “I cannot now, in good conscience, object to the certification of these electors,”

Another surprise reaction came from the US Vice President Mike Pence, who is President Trump’s close ally, while speaking said “To those who wreaked havoc in our Capitol today, you did not win.
“Violence never wins. Freedom wins and this is still the people’s house.”
Already, several world leaders have condemned what happened at the US congress, with many of them describing it as disgraceful.
The past two months since after the US Presidential election has been a bad one for a country usually described globally as an example of a good democratic nation, but Trump’s recent actions has placed a question mark on that long believe about America.
With the congress certification of Joe Biden as the right winner of the November election, at the age of 78 he becomes the oldest President in US history to be sworn in.
He will also become the 46th President of the US, after his inauguration on 20th of January 2021.
