Trouble for India as it hits over a million COVID-19 cases

India the second world most populous country has become the third country to record over one million cases of coronavirus. This is according to Reuters reports.
Presently the United States is the highest hit country, followed by Brazil hit.
The number of cases for the epicenter countries, show that currently, the United States cases are close to 3.6 million, while Brazil is a little over 2 million.
The India situation is as a result of the surge in recent weeks, which pushed the country to have a higher number than Russia.
Indian authorities have put in a lot of efforts to enforce the lockdowns and keep people indoors.
According to the Ministry of Health statement, India recorded 34,956 new infections on Friday.
Which made its total toll to rise to 1,003,832, with 25,602 deaths.
Giridhar Babu, epidemiologist at Public Health Foundation of India, explained that more cases were the natural progression of any pandemic.
“As we move forward, the goal has to be lower mortality, a critical challenge states will face is how to rationally allocate hospital beds,” Babu noted.
