Tension in Imo as the various election tribunals are set to deliver their judgments
There is serious anxiety and tension enveloping Imo State at the moment as the different tribunals sitting in Owerri are set to deliver their various judgments, in the early part of September.
It could be recalled that the tribunals have been sitting since April, which was shortly after the 2019 general elections, with a 6 months mandate to finish their work.
Having sat for over five months hearing the applications of the candidates in the election dispute, the tribunals are expected to end their mandate by September when the six months time limit will expire.
Before going for conference recently, which somehow affected the sitting, the various tribunals are said to be in their final stage, having adopted addresses by all the parties involved in the legal dispute.
Sources inside the judicial has indicated to ambrosymediainfo.com that latest by the first week of September, the tribunals will start dishing out judgments on the concluded cases.
This will be done in order to meet up with their six months dateline, before the applicants can proceed further, especially for those who may lose at the tribunal.
What is troubling many people is the fact that no one actually know how the cases would go, so there is a lot of built up anxiety everywhere in the State due to the controversies that trailed the elections.
But whatever happens, before the end of September those who went to the tribunal to contest for the elections of the governor, State house of assembly, the senate and house of representative will know their fate.
Already some States neighboring Imo have started delivering judgments in their various cases at the tribunals. So for now all eyes are on Imo as the state was one of the many states with highly controversial elections.
