Super Eagles of Nigeria win CAR to redeem its image
The Nigeria’s Super Eagles has finally redeemed its image after defeating Central African Republic 2-0 in Douala, Cameroon.
The goals came from Leon Balogun at the 29th minute and Victor Osimhem at the extra time of the first half, which gave the Eagles victory over the Wild Beasts.
Recall that Nigeria lost to the Central African Republic in Lagos last Thursday by 1-0, which ended the Eagles unbeaten record.
At the 53rd minute, the Eagles had a chance to extend their lead but one of defenders of CAR cleared the ball, which was earlier missed by the goalkeeper Prince Samolah.
The return match was not played in the Central African Republic due to the civil war in some some parts of parts of the country, thereby making the Confederation of African football to rule that no football field could hold proper international matches.
Balogun and Kenneth Omeruo were replaced in the second half by coach Rohr after they showed sign of leg pain.
