Solskjaer discloses what he expects from Ronaldo on his returns to Man Utd
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Manchester United manager, has revealed what he expects from ‘special’ Cristiano Ronaldo after the club confirmed the Portuguese’s return on Tuesday.
Recall that Manchester United officially confirmed Ronaldo’s return on Tuesday and Solskjaer said the signing of ‘very special’ Ronaldo highlights the club’s ‘unique’ standing in world football.
The former Real Madrud and Juventus forward signed an initial two-year deal with his former club.
Ronaldo spent six years at United winning many trophies before joining Real Madrid for a then-world record fee.
Solskjaer played with Ronaldo in his final season before retiring in 2007 and the Norwegian admits he’s almost ‘lost for words’ to describe the Portuguese superstar.
“You run out of words to describe Cristiano,” said Solskjaer.
“He is not only a marvellous player, but also a great human being. To have the desire and the ability to play at the top level for such a long period requires a very special person.
“I have no doubt that he will continue to impress us all and his experience will be so vital for the younger players in the squad.
“Ronaldo’s return demonstrates the unique appeal of this club and I am absolutely delighted he is coming home to where it all started.”
