The season for Manchester United ended Sunday night after they were eliminated from the Europa League at the semi-final stage by competition specialists Sevilla.
Unfortunately for United they have not won a trophy since 2017 and must now wait until 2021 for their next chance of silverware after surrendering a lead to lose in Cologne.
The team coached by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer started in brighter note and took the lead in the first half through a Bruno Fernandes penalty after Marcus Rashford was felled in the box.
Suso who is a former Liverpool player equalised before half-time and Luuk de Jong scored the winning goal for the Spanish side after Man Utd had spurned multiple good chances at the beginning of the second half.
This is the first time since the 1980s that United have gone three seasons in a row without a trophy and Solskjaer and his players will now enjoy a short break before the next Premier League campaign gets underway in September.
