PDP reacts to adopting Atiku as party’s 2023 presidential candidate

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has has made it clear that the party has not adopted a presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary,  Kola Ologbondiyan said the party has not sold nomination form to any intending candidate, hence it has no flagbearer yet.

The party Secretary made the clarification while faulting a report that PDP has adopted its former presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar as the party’s 2023 presidential candidate.

He also stressed that the opposition party was always ready to defend democracy.

The PDP spokesman assured that PDP will never support the imposition of candidates.

“We have not started selling forms, until then, we don’t know those who are contesting for the presidential ticket of the party for 2023.

“Moreover, we have not started selling forms,” Ologbondiyan said in Abuja yesterday.

Recall that Atiku was the party’s presidential flag bearer in 2019 but lost to the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
