Ogun Governor, Abiodun adopts Obasanjo as his father after losing dad
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has adopted former President Olusegun Obasanjo as his father, after the death of his biological dad.
The governor made this known Sunday when Obasanjo paid him a condolence visit in his Iperu country home, over the death of his father, who reportedly died in London.
Governor Abiodun’s dad, Pa Emmanuel, died on August 2.
Since last week, dignitaries from across the state have been thronging Iperu to sympathise with him.
During Obasanjo’s visit to Abiodun on Sunday, the Ex-President called on all mortals to take a lesson from the death of the 89-year-old man, saying everyone would answer the call one day, no matter how long.
In his words, Abiodun described Obasanjo as an asset that should be exploited to the fullest, saying he would not go now.
According to him, the Balogun Owu would have to step into his late father’s shoes now That he has gone to the great beyond.
“Baba, you are going nowhere. By the grace of God, you will live longer. We cannot afford your going now. You have been my ‘father’ over the years, but now that my biological father has gone to meet with the Saints, you have to step up now to be my father,” Abiodun said.
