Obasanjo reacts to Ghanaians reelection of Akufo-Addo

Olusegun Obasanjo, the Former Nigerian President, has sent a letter to the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, congratulating him over his reelection.
In his letter which was dated December 10, 2020, Obasanjo said, “Let me hasten to congratulate you, the government, and the people of Ghana on the successful conduct of the Ghanaian general elections held on the 7 December 2020.”
Obasanjo made it clear that Akufo-Addo’s reelection is a testimony of his performance in office.
The former President expressed optimism that the president-elect will remain as enthusiastic, as energetic, as focused, and as committed as he has been in the last four years in serving the people of Ghana and the rest of Africa.
While praying that God will grant him more success in his second term, Obasanjo appealed to the Ghanaian President to “be magnanimous in victory, unite the nation, and bring all hands on deck for the growth, development and progress of Ghana.”
On the deadly coronavirus pandemic, Obasanjo encouraged Akufo-Addo to take leadership and explore all available to secure safe, effective, available, and affordable COVID-19 vaccines for all Ghanaians and their African brothers and sisters.
