Nigeria discuses with China over COVID-19 vaccine

The Government of Nigeria has opened talks with China on access to the COVID-19 vaccine for Nigeria.
Geoffery Onyeama, Minister of Foreign Affairs, made the disclosure on Tuesday in Abuja.
He spoke to reporters after a bilateral meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi.
Yi, who is also the State Councilor of China, has been visiting Nigeria and some other African countries.
Onyeama lauded China’s assistance to Nigeria since the outbreak of coronavirus.
According to him, “We have received a lot of support from China in the area of personal protective equipment that they were very quick to provide us with.
“China is also one of those countries that have been able to discover vaccines for COVID-19. We are engaging with China to also help with regards to access to vaccines for our people”.
