Nigeria confirms 521 new COVID-19 cases, more deaths

521 fresh cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 152,074.

NCDC made the announcement on Sunday night while giving its daily report on its official website.

According to the new figure, about seven patients died in the last 24 hours as total fatality jumped to 1,839.

The public health agency also confirmed the recovery of 271 patients in Lagos and Kwara states.
