Nigeria confirms 113 fresh COVID-19 infections, reveals total active cases

113 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC in 9 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This figure brings the total number of recorded infections in the country to 162,388.

NCDC made the announcement while giving an update on Friday night via a post on its verified Facebook page.

The health agency said about 104 patients were discharged across the country bringing the total number of recoveries to 149,986.

No fewer than three persons also died of COVID19 complications in the last 24 hours as total fatalities hit 2,039.

According to the report, States with the highest fresh cases include Lagos-53, Rivers-22 and Akwa Ibom-12.

Others are: Kaduna-12, Ondo-6,Osun-3, FCT-2, Jigawa-1, Nasarawa-1 and Kano-1.
