More COVID-19 deaths in 18 states, FCT as NCDC records 643 new cases

643 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC in 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

With the new figure, the total number of recorded cases in the country is now 140,391.

NCDC, while giving the report on its website last night, indicated that 6 persons died due to COVID-19 complications in the country, bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,673.

The health agency also confirmed the discharge of 996 patients in Lagos, Rivers, Plateau, Kaduna and Benue. No fewer than 114,635 patients have been successfully treated and discharged.

“Our discharges today include 744 community recoveries in Lagos State, 100 in Rivers State, 78 in Plateau State, 72 in Kaduna State and 2 in Benue State managed in line with guidelines”.
