Messi finally explains the reason Barcelona lost on the day Real Madrid won LaLiga title
The Argentine and Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, has given reasons why his team was defeated 2-1 against Osasuna in Thursday La Liga encounter.
According to him, Barcelona lost to Osasuna because the visitors ‘overpowered’ Catalan giants players in the first half of the match.
Two goals from Jose Arnaiz and Roberto Torres was enough for Osasuna to defeat the LaLiga defending champions at Camp Nou, as Messi scored the only goal for his side.
“This game reflects what we have been like all season. A very irregular team that lets its head drop too easily,” Messi was quoted by Barcelona’s official website as saying.
“We gifted the first half to an Osasuna team that overpowered us. In the second half, we were better, but it wasn’t enough.”
Barcelona will be playing their next La Liga game against Alaves on Sunday.
