Lukaku identifies ‘great’ captain in Chelsea squad
Romelu Lukaku, the newly signed Chelsea striker, has hailed teammate, Cesar Azpilicueta, as a ‘great captain’.
Lukaku also said that Azpilicueta contacted him even as he was waiting to complete his transfer move to Chelsea from Inter Milan.
He said this ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday.
Azpilicueta is the only remaining player of the Chelsea squad from Lukaku’s first spell at Stamford Bridge between 2011 and 2014.
“Azpi [Cesar Azpilicueta] is the captain and has been here for many years,” Lukaku told Chelsea’s website.
“He is a great captain. When I was in quarantine, he was already messaging me about where to find houses and stuff.
“It was like I was never gone. The relationship is still intact, and also with the rest of the boys.”
