Imo government vows to recover all Okorocha acquired as Governor

The Imo State Government has made it clear that it will recover all properties of government which the former governor of the state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha took away or wrongly ascribed to himself when he was the governor of the state.

The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. C.O.C Akaolisa made this known during an interview with a correspondent in Owerri, the state capital.

The Attorney General expressed dismay that a governor in power could amass such a number of things belonging to the government to himself without considering the consequences.

Akaolisa mentioned a particular built up area the government will take over to include all building around the new government house.

He also disclosed that the old Imo Broadcasting Corporation quarters which Okorocha converted to his Rochas Foundation College will be taken over by the government as well.

The Justice Commissioner wondered how Okorocha despite these things he acquired; still have the courage to be warning the current governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

 According to him, “Rochas can never get back those properties again.

“I repeat, Rochas can never get back those properties again”.

Recall that just recently, the former Governor with his aides broke into a government seized estate along Akachi road, which resulted in confrontation between Okorocha, his aids and government officials who arrived the place in company of police men to affect the arrest of the ex-governor and his aides.

About 14 of Okorocha’s aids were later charged to court the next day, but were granted bail.

The Court sitting which was presided by the Chief Magistrate Court 4, D. U Adikaibe, in Owerri Imo State, slammed a Five Million Naira (N5m) bail bond on each of the accused persons,
