Iheanacho’s Leicester City defeat Chelsea to win FA Cup
Two Nigerian national team players of the Super Eagles, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, were part of Leicester City team that beat Chelsea 1-0 at Wembley to win the FA Cup final.
It was Youri Tielemans, who provided the most important moment of the final, which had 20,000 fans in attendance.
The Belgian midfielder strode forward unopposed and unleashed a fierce drive past Kepa Arizzabalaga, to net the winner in the second half.
Leicester City had to ride their luck in the end, with a couple of outstanding saves from Kasper Schmichel keeping them in the game.
VAR also chalked off a late Chelsea goal which was scored by former Foxes’ left-back, Ben Chilwell.
Thomas Tuchel’s men still have one more final to play – in the Champions League against Manchester City on May 29.
