The first and the only indigenous Governor–General of Nigeria – Igbo (Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe) (1960–1963).
First President of Nigeria – Igbo, (Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe) (1963-1966).
First Military Head of State of Nigeria – Igbo, (Gen. Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi) (1966).
First Nigerian Senate President – Igbo, (Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe) (1960).
First democratically elected Vice President of Nigeria – Igbo, (Dr Alex Egwueme) (1979-1983).
First Nigerian House of Representatives speaker – Igbo, (Jaja Nwachukwu) (1959-1960).
First Nigerian House of Representatives speaker under the presidential system – Igbo, (Chief Edwin Ume-Ezeoke) (1979-1983)

The complain of marginalization was virtually absent then.
So what has actually gone wrong now?
