House of Reps suspends plenary to mourn late colleague

To mourn their late colleague, Hassan Kila, the House of Representatives on Tuesday suspended plenary

Kila died on the 4th of March at the National Hospital in Abuja.

Before he died, he represented Gwaram Federal Constituency of Jigawa State in the House.

the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, while speaking on the death of the lawmaker, described him as a perfect gentleman. He also recalled his last moment with him.

“We all know that there will be no sitting today, and we all know why. It was a painful loss to me personally. He was with me since 2015. The last time I saw him, he was getting better.

“When I met his wife at the hospital, she reminded me of the last conversation I had on the phone with Hon Kila, where he said, “Mr. Speaker, I just want to tell you goodbye,” Of course, I didn’t pay any attention to the comment, because I thought he was travelling.

“His wife told me she quarrelled with him for that statement. I guess he knew it was time.”

Also speaking about the departed lawmaker, Leke Abejide, the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Customs urged the House to employ one of the sons of the lawmaker.

The House Leader, Hassan Ado Dogwa, therefore, moved for the adjournment of the House.

Recall that the senate also adjoined their plenary in honour of late Hassan-Kila.
