The Imo state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has said he would continue to lift the health care sector in the state from its moribund situation he found it to an enviable height.
The Governor disclosed this in a speech presentation during the opening ceremony of the Medical City Hospital, Egbu in owerri North local government area of the state.
Senator Uzodimma ably represented by his Special Adviser on Health, Dr. Mrs Lina Okereke , said the state of the art equipment in the newly commissioned hospital is in conformity with what he wishes for the state.
Speaking further, Dr. Okereke said the governor had made stringent efforts to develop the health sector.
According to her, “For instance, you all know that our dear Governor has already sent Ambulances to the 27 local government areas of the state.
“He has also gotten mobile clinics for the local governments, these are equipped with drugs and screening gadgets to make sure that health services are taking down to the rural areas for the ordinary person to access it.
“This is apart from the efforts he is making in the secondary health care facilities of the general hospitals, where he is also putting in stringent efforts to really equip them with all the state of arts equipment that is necessary to take up the health challenges of the state in a very active way.
“You know our able governor has a large heart and he has a very good appetite for the health of the indigenes and is ready to develop the health sector of the state to a very enviable standard.
“On that ground we also thank the owner of the new hospital who has made effort to bring up a well equipped place like this”.
In an interview with our correspondent after the commissioning ceremony, Dr Okereke expressed satisfaction with the state of the art equipment in the hospital.
