Gov Okowa replies Presidency on its reaction to open grazing ban
The Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has reacted to the statement by the Presidency which faulted the resolve of the Southern Governors on open grazing in the region.
Recall that the Presidency in a statement on Monday described the resolutions as “acts of politicking intended by its signatories to demonstrate power.”
the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in a statement tackled the governors, stating that it was an attempt to violate the rights of some Nigerians.
However, while reacting to the presidency’s claim, Governor Okowa who is the Chairman of the South-South Governors’ Forum, said there was no going back on the resolution reached recently at Asaba, the Delta State capital.
Okowa’s reaction which came through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, said it does not matter how the presidency perceived the ban.
He stated, “They said act of politicking and so what? If they want to call it politics, it is nothing to us.”
