Garba Shehu, Gambari, others receive COVID-19 vaccine

The Senior Special Adviser to the president, Garba Shehu and President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff (COS), Professor Ibrahim Gambari have received the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at the State House, Abuja. 

The president’s spokesman and Gambari got vaccinated after Buhari and the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo received their own jab on Live TV on Saturday at the New Banquet Hall of the State House.

It was the Chief Nursing Officer of the State House Clinic, Esther Ibrahim, who administered the vaccine to both of them.

The president’s COS, while speaking during the vaccination, said the vaccination was not painful, adding that he followed the footsteps of his boss.

He advised eligible Nigerians to take the vaccines, assuring them of its safety and efficacy.

He added that, “the more Nigerians are vaccinated, the more we are safe.”

Also vaccinated along with them were former military administrator of Lagos and Borno States, and the Chairman/CEO of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd) and the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Tijjani Umar.

The members of Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, are scheduled to receive theirs on Monday evening during the daily briefing.

All governors of the 36 States have also been booked for their own jab on Friday, March 12.
