Ganduje under presure to sign Yahya Aminu’s death warrant immediately
Governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has been put under pressure to urgently sign singer Yahya Aminu’s Death Warrant, which is before him after an Upper Sharia Court passed the judgement.
The major pressure group on this issue of pushing Ganduje to sign the death warrant is the Kano State Council of Jamaat Mosques Imams.
It could be recalled that a Kano Upper Sharia Court had sentenced Yahya Aminu to death by hanging for Blasphemy against the Prophet of Islam.
But to the surprise of many, the Kano State council of Friday mosque Imams commended the Upper Shari’ah court for passing the death judgement to 22-year-old Yahaya Aminu.
Muhammad Nasir Adam, the chairman of the council gave the commendation on Wednesday, saying it was apt and according to the teachings of Islam.
While asking Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to sign the execution Warrant of the penalty, he also warned Muslims to refrain from supporting any move capable of denting the image of the prophet of Islam Muhammad, peace be upon him.
Harun Sani Ibn Sina, the Commander General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, is another person that supported the judgment of the Upper Sharia Court which sentenced Mr. Aminu to death by hanging.
