The former aide to Abdullahi Ganduje, the Governor of Kano State, has been released by the Department of State Services (DSS).
A family member of Abdullahi Yakasai, the detained aide said he regained his freedom on Monday night.
“Alhamdulilah. My brother @dawisu is out. Thank you all! #freedawisu,” Abdullahi Yakasai tweeted.
Abdullahi Yakasai, was arrested after he asked President Muhammadu Buhari to resign.
Yakasai made the call last Friday after the abduction of hundreds of schoolgirls from the Government Secondary School in Zamfara State.
Nigerians and organisations condemned his arrest.
But in its reaction, DSS said he was not in custody over his tweet recurring kidnappings.
