Chelsea in a special way qualifies for Champions League

After a turbulent season, Chelsea has finally sealed qualification for next season’s Champions League in style, by defeating Wolves 2-0 at their Stamford Bridge home ground. The away side made the better start of the game, testing Willy Caballero on a handful of occasions. However, the Blues stood up to the challenge, and managed to score against the run of play, with Mason Mount scoring through a spectacular free kick from a central position.
Later Mount became the provider by laying the ball through for Oliver Giroud who rounded the keeper superbly to make it 2-0. It was the second goal which seemed to have deflated Wolves, who had an opportunity to finish fifth entering the day. However, Chelsea held on for a vital win, one that assures them of a top-four finish in what many have described as Frank Lampard’s lucky first season at the club.
