Caballero says Messi always wants to assassinate goalkeepers

Lionel Messi, the Barcelona captain, always “goes out to assassinate the goalkeeper” when he is on the pitch, according to Willy Caballero, who says his compatriot is forever on a “mission” to find the target.

Messi, who has broken several records, has netted a remarkable 663 goals for Barca.

Chelsea keeper Caballero has lined up against and alongside Messi down the years.

Speaking to 90min, Caballero said “Facing Messi, I had to suffer.

“He goes out to assassinate the goalkeeper.

“The goalkeepers, the defenders – he’s going to kill [them]. And killing means scoring as many goals as possible.
