Body parts, including severed head found in man’s truck in US
A United States man from Las Vegas has been charged with murder after police found a severed head and body parts in the back of a man’s stolen car. Eric Holland was arrested on December 24, the complaint stated.
According to a report on CNN, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police tried to stop a Toyota Tundra truck which had a suspended registration. However, after stopping initially, the truck drove away when the officers tried to speak to the driver, according to the complaint.
The truck then went into a parking garage and a few moments later another gold Chevrolet Avalanche was seen leaving the garage. Authorities were unsure if Holland was driving both the vehicles.
Police then followed the gold Avalanche to an apartment complex where the man got out and defied police commands, as per the court documents.
After Holland was taken into custody, police confirmed that both the trucks were stolen.
While searching the gold truck, police found a foul stench from a black plastic trash bag. A severed head was found inside it. The complaint also stated that two human legs and a torso were found in the truck.
The victim was identified as 65-year-old Richard P. Miller.
An attorney for Holland, P. David Westbrook, told CNN, “The body recovered in this case was in the second truck (the Chevy) not the first (the Toyota). Additionally, the truck bed was covered and the body was stored in sealed coolers. “
“In order to presume that Mr. Holland had prior knowledge of the contents of this truck, you would also have to believe that he lead police to the body intentionally. The question is: why would he do this?” he asked.
