Barcelona manager Koeman targets Lyon’s Memphis Depay to improve his team
Ronald Koeman, the new manager of Barcelona is, interested in bringing Lyon attacker Memphis Depay to his team during this summer’s transfer window.
The Spanish giants are expected to reorganize their squad ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, with a number of players both leaving and arriving at the club in the coming weeks.
RAC1 reports have indicated that Koeman has identified Memphis as a possible acquisition, with the former Manchester United attacker starring under the new Barca boss for the Netherlands.
Memphis now 26, is said to have enjoyed a strong 2019-20 campaign at club level despite picking up a serious knee injury, scoring 15 times in 22 appearances in all competitions.
The value of Memphis by Lyon’s estimation is in the region of €55m (£49m), although the asking price could drop as his contract in France is due to expire next summer.
