Atiku calls for electoral reforms as he reacts to outcome of Ghana’s election
Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria has reacted to the outcome of the just concluded presidential election in Ghana.
He made it clear that the “smooth conduct” of elections in Ghana should serve as a lesson to Nigeria.
Recall that President Nana Akufo-Addo has been re-elected after a tightly contested presidential election.
Atiku, who was also the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the last election, tweeted a congratulatory message to Nana Akufo-Addo.
“Congratulations to President @NAkufoAddo on his reelection.
“The smooth conduct of the Ghana elections should be an eye-opener to our nation.”
According to him, Nigeria must undertake far-reaching “electoral reforms that address the shortcomings of our previous experience and strengthens our electoral process.”
