Again Akeredolu’s Deputy, Agboola jumps out of PDP, targets another party

Again Agboola Ajayi, Deputy Governor of Ondo State,  has jumped out of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. by resigning his membership from the party.

Recall that Ajayi six weeks ago dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and joined the PDP.

He later participated in the July 22 governorship primaries of the PDP where he lost to the candidate of the party, Eyitayo Jegede and was said to have made the move in order to keep his governorship hope alive.

Information has it that Agboola has perfected move to fly the flag of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP at the forthcoming October 10, 2020 governorship election in the state.

The source of the information, which is an impeccable one clarified that Ajayi will on Tuesday formally declare for ZLP.

The deputy governor’s Media Aide, Allen Sowore while confirming his resignation from PDP,  said, “This decision is as a result of the call on the Deputy Governor by majority of the good people of Ondo State to give hope to the hopeless, provide credible and purposeful leadership in our dear State.

“The chairman of the PDP in Apoi Ward 2 of Ese-Odo Local Government Area, Festus Oboro acknowledged the receipt of the resignation letter on 9th of August 2020.”

Meanwhile despite the deputy governor’s running battle with his boss, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, he still insisted that he will not resign his position as deputy governor, stressing that his people advised him against the move.
